Velvet Clothing is a fashion line by five extra ordinary Malaysian designers that has befriended since university. The founder Mohd N. Nasriq, Zan Kole’ Simon and Phylis Lahei Oelwen started their business by opening their very own first boutique in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in September 2001.

The C.E.O of Velvet Clothing Line Pte Ltd, Madam Beba Livan Yatie was the person who responsible to spread Velvet’s influences in Asia’s fashion industry. Madam Beba was one of the founders of MIFA or Malaysia International Fashion Organisations.

Velvet Clothing Pte Ltd holds three(3) sub –brands consists of Style is War (targerted on young and urban people), Stuff by Velvet (more office wear) and Velvet.Co (more on accesories). Velvet Clothing Pte. Ltd has become one of most well-known Asia brands that branch out more than 200 stores around Asia Pacific including 9 branches in Australia, 7 in New Zealand and currently has more than 7000 employees.

Velvet Clothing Line manufactures apparels and accessories including practical men’s and women’s office wear, cardigans, casual wear, T-Shirt, blazer, denims and trousers.

In the end of 2008, Velvet Clothing launched its fragrance. The first fragrance was called Imperial Nights. The perfume peaked at number 4 for the Best Perfume in 2008 by Perfume Mag.

Velvet Clothing was described by Louis Vuitton fashion director Daniel Piette as "possibly the most innovative and devastating retailer in the world". Venus Clothing has also been described as a "Malaysia success story" by CNN.
