CSR, say what?

I just got out from a very long and exhausting meeting. Reaching 3 hours full of corporate and marketing terms- serious deal. We concluded the meeting by affirming our stand: to keep on protecting our mother earth and consistently helping others.

The environmentally conscious company always performs business through means safe and beneficial to the environment. Velvet Pte.Ltd was well – known as the main donor for MAC (Malaysian Aids Council), Greenpeace and also WWF (World Wildlife Federations).

This year, Velvet has came out with special edition of perfume call Inspiration special for World Breast Cancer Day as an awareness campaign. The profit from the sales 50% goes to the Australia Breast Cancer Foundation.

Velvet also gave clothes to the Acheh’s Tsunami victims in 2004. We are also donating $2.3m for build up the hpuse that has been damage in tsunami. We printed out T- Shirt that published Help Acheh as a campaign to raise donation for people that suffered due to the tsunami. The T- Shirt has been sold in all Velvet store including in GAP boutique in UK.

While Velvet Pte Ltd actively supports local communities it also believes strongly in making the workplace environment productive as possible for our estimated 7000 employees (this might be increasing) worldwide.

The employee’s of Velvet Pte Ltd would be safe under the Safe In Workplace Scheme. This scheme will help them if anything happen in workplace, neither at the factory or store.the workers is protected with insurance under this scheme. The employees also will have 4 – months retirement pay when they are no longer works with the company because of illnesses.
